Pole dance meets pottery in this one-of-a-kind creative collaboration between two downtown Hilo businesses!

Join Embody Movement and Hilo Bay Pottery for an afternoon of movement, creativity, and trying something new. We’re bringing together two amazing art forms for an experience that’s equal parts empowering, playful, and hands-on.

We’ll kick things off at the beautiful Embody Movement studio overlooking Hilo Bay, where Louise, co-owner of Embody Movement, will guide you through a beginner-friendly pole dance sequence from 1–2 PM. No pole dance experience necessary — just bring your curiosity and get ready to move!

Then, take a short walk over to Hilo Bay Pottery. From 2:30–4:30 PM, you’ll paint your own custom handmade ceramic mug at The Clayground, choosing your colors and creating a design that’s uniquely you. We’ll take care of the glazing and firing, so your finished piece will be ready to enjoy after its time in the kiln.

No experience in pole dance or pottery is necessary!

Time: 1–4:30 PM

Locations: Embody Movement Studio, 13 Haili St, Hilo, HI 96720, entrance across Hilo Palace Theater (1–2 PM), followed by Hilo Bay Pottery (2:30–4:30 PM)

Cost: $55 per person includes a one-hour, beginner-friendly pole dance class led by Louise at Embody Movement, plus your own handmade ceramic mug to paint at Hilo Bay Pottery, including glazing and firing.

Your finished pottery will be ready for pickup within 2 weeks to allow for drying and firing.
